What a wonderful, busy Friday we have had!
Take a look at some of the photographs below to see what we have been up to ….
Writing
We are about to start writing newspaper articles based on our class story (Floodlands). In order to help us start, we have imagineered the setting and had a go at ‘hot seating’ the main character. Several children thought about how Zoe (the main character in the story) would be feeling and created a back story whilst others imagined themselves as journalists, creating questions to interview our ‘Zoe’s’ with.

PSHE/British Values
Today, we revisited the following British Values: Mutual Respect, Individual Liberty and Democracy. We talked about a recent poll taken regarding age and voting. We did our own initial vote, listened to one another’s opinions (ensuring that we were respectful of differing viewpoints) and took a final vote.
Buddy Reading
This afternoon, we paired up with the Reception children and read them a story. Many children thoroughly enjoyed the experience ….
“I enjoyed sharing books with them.” – Austin.
“They are so cute! They listened really well and they asked me what some of the words meant. They joined in with some of the rhymes in the books.” – Ruby.

Congratulations to the children who have achieved their first 100 reads of Year 6!
